Job Purpose and Summary
A project Foreman is responsible for the management of the onsite crew(s) and the coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and TBE project managers and superintendents. A Foreman will lead the crew by creating a daily and weekly plan alongside the Superintendent and project managers and communicate daily with his crew and subcontractors. Additionally, a foreman will be responsible for showing up each morning to his assigned project already prepared with tools, materials and knowledge to start each morning at the agreed upon start time.
Responsibilities
Daily management meetings for proper equipment and crew scheduling
Educating and training newer employees as needed
Manage and direct crews and subcontractors daily
Ensure the crew has all the necessary tools to complete the required task
Ensure OSHA standards are adhered to
Promote an atmosphere of teamwork and understanding of each crew members abilities, and communicate to each crew member what is expected so they have a clear understanding of the processes
Notify mechanical team when services may be needed for onsite equipment
Communicate with other supers, foreman, and project managers daily
Track time and quantities and complete daily timecards and daily reports.
Create a safe and helpful work environment
Interface with customers and represent the ideals of Thompson Bros. Excavating, Inc.
Working Environment
Typical working environment is working mostly on 1 or 2 different project sites per week in all weather conditions
Typical working hours vary based on weather conditions and seasons, but summer months are typically 40+ hours a week, 5 days a week and winters tend to be right around 40 hours a week, weather pending
We typically try to avoid working Saturdays or Sundays, however the occasional Saturday may be required during the busy summer season
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Basic math skills and understanding
Previous experience as a civil foreman, or history of leadership roles
Quality Control and an understanding of specifications
Understanding of project plans and specifications and where to find critical information when needed
Understanding of civil construction operations and operations of most construction equipment and small tools
Ability to interact and communicate with TBE customers
Determine risk vs reward when trying to overcome roadblocks onsite
Mentor and train employees for future growth
Current certified and/or willing to certify in: First Aid, CPR, CDL, Confined Space, Competent Person, Erosion and Sediment Control,
Help create look-ahead schedules
GPS (Topcon) system experience is preferred
Able to potential onsite or design conflicts before they happen
Understanding of utility locates and ability to call them in if needed
Ability to spot change orders or non-contract work prior to performing work

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Heavy Equipment Lube and Oiler Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and servicing heavy machinery by performing routine lubrication, fluid checks, minor maintenance and troubleshooting tasks with various heavy equipment, dump trucks, earth moving, and/or other construction-related equipment. Training may be available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform lubrication services on heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, haul trucks, and various other vehicles equipment and machinery.
Check and replenish fluids such as engine oil, hydraulic fluid, transmission fluid, and coolant.
Inspect equipment for leaks, excessive wear, and potential mechanical issues.
Maintain and operate lubrication service trucks and equipment safely and efficiently.
Keep lubrication tools, supplies, and equipment in good working condition.
Some potential heavy equipment mechanical work as qualified or needed.
Document maintenance and service activities accurately in logs and reports.
Work closely with mechanics and operators to schedule preventive maintenance.
Ensure all work is performed following company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Identify and report potential equipment failures or safety concerns.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Previous experience in heavy equipment lubrication, maintenance, or a related field preferred.
Familiarity with various types of heavy equipment and lubrication processes.
Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals and service schedules.
Basic mechanical skills and the ability to perform minor repairs.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Valid driver’s license, CDL and Hazmat endorsements as required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, if needed.
Must be able to pass a drug test prior to employment.
Preferred Skills:
Certification in lubrication or preventive maintenance is a plus.
Experience working in construction, mining, or industrial environments.
Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Working Environment:
Typically, outdoors in various weather types and conditions.
Often hours will be outside of a typical 7am to 5pm shift.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a construction equipment operator.

Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment maintenance.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
